Wanderlust

I've been on my fair few shares of holidays and I am very lucky in the fact that most of my family holidays have been abroad but recently I've had a huge desire to travel, I want to see the world. Some times I just sit and just think of all the places I want to see. I want to road trip America, see all the sights in Australia, go to Thailand, Africa, Europe. Many people would say that I should take a gap year after I've finished my A-Levels in the summer and I now looking back I sometimes wonder why I didn't defer my university application for a year. I think at the time, I was scared and would want to spend my gap year travelling but that would mean finding someone to accompany me ( I would need a travel buddy) and at the time my desire to travel wasn't as strong and I wouldn't want to take a gap year then chicken out and spend a year sitting in my bedroom wishing I hadn't deferred my application.

I want to take silly photo's next to landmarks and fall in love with countries and cities. I understand that travelling doesn't appeal to everyone but I still in some ways don't get it. Discovering new places and going on one great big adventure, I've realised recently you've got to live life to it's fullest and see as much as you possibly can, sitting in your bedroom isn't going to create memories that you will carry with you for the rest of your life. This summer I am spending a month in Malawi, Africa for a month with a group of 10 other people from my sixth form whilst we are out there we are doing; charity work, trekking, going on a safari and even going kayaking and staying on an island that will be all ours for a night, I have a feeling this will just spark more desire to see the rest of the world.
